Construction Unions Use Government to Monopolize Silicon Valley Public Works Contracts

Unions are demanding Project Labor Agreements for construction projects in the City of San Jose and County of Santa Clara. On January 23, 2017, a representative of the Coalition for Fair Employment in Construction was at the first meeting of the City of San Jose's Community Workforce Agreements/Project Labor Agreement (CWA/PLA) Task Force. He spoke against a Project Labor Agreement proposed for future city contracts.
